Disney+ on a 32:9 super ultrawide monitor

On a 32:9 screen a movie from a streaming service can use less than a third of the display. UltraFill fills more of it, and on such a wide screen the elastic mode matters most.

Why 32:9 is the hardest case

A 32:9 monitor is twice as wide as a 16:9 one. Even a 2.39 movie, the widest common format, needs a big crop to fill it. That is why UltraFill offers three modes, and you choose how much to cut and how much to stretch.

Recommended setup

  1. Add UltraFill to Chrome and open a movie on Disney+ in full screen.
  2. Open the panel (hover over the top of the video, click UltraFill) and pick the movie format by hand, for example 2.39. Disney+ protects its video (DRM), so automatic detection is not available there.
  3. Use Elastic (PRO) with the strength slider around the middle, or Crop with a zoom you like.
  4. Want to see how it will look before you buy a monitor? In the Screen tab, Preview another monitor (PRO) shows how a movie fills a 21:9 or 32:9 screen.
